Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), and working closely with the other senior members of the Company, the Production Manager is a dynamic leader responsible for the efficient and high-quality production of luxury handbags and small leather accessories. This individual oversees all aspects of the production process, from vendor management and raw material sourcing & negotiating, to finished product delivery, all while ensuring adherence to our stated margin requirements and rigorous quality standards. The focus will be on maintaining on-time delivery, ensuring superior craftsmanship, and optimizing the production processes to meet both financial and business goals.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed production plans and schedules, taking into consideration sales forecasts, inventory levels, and lead times
  • Work closely with the all sales, merchandising, planning, design & development, and distribution teams to ensure accurate production flow and timely receipt of all materials and finished product
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors while ensuring cost-efficiency and consistent delivery of materials and product
  • Establish and enforce strict quality control standards throughout the production process, oversee quality checks, inspections, testing procedures, resolve any quality issues in a timely manner, and implement corrective actions when necessary
  • Manage production budgets and costs with precision while identifying and implementing cost-saving measures without compromising quality, including effectively developing and maintaining applicable budgets
  • Optimize production efficiency by streamlining processes, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing requisite improvements
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and implement effective inventory control systems, including the tracking of production yields to minimize material waste and maximize overall margin
  • Prepare and present production reports clearly and concisely, providing insights into production performance and identifying areas for improvement
  • Create a Master Costing Report that tracks all relevant costs by SKU that can be reported on and reviewed with the senior team as needed to manage vendors, establish margin targets, and accomplish organizational goals
  • Consistent weekly review and management of vendor WIP reports with the factories and with each internal team to ensure that the right product is coming in at exactly the right time based on forecasts and buy plans
  • Develop a holistic set of KPIs which are adhered to, reported, and reviewed on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Manage and motivate a team of accurate and production employees as the organizations grows in the future
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in production management and identify opportunities to implement new technologies that lead to efficiencies and cost-savings
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, labor laws, and environmental standards


Core Competencies and Accomplishments:


Minimum 5+ years of experience in Production Management, preferably within the fashion industry

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field preferred

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production budgets, materials science, quality control principles, and lean manufacturing techniques

Exceptional organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) software is a plus

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

Ability to move fast, be bold, think analytically, and thrive in a dynamic environment
