Job Details
Our Rhode Island based client is looking for a Buyer with 3+ years' experience; this role is onsite Monday-Friday and 40 hours per week. At least 2+ years of buying experience for jewelry, fashion or accessories.
Responsibilities
- Drive merchandising strategy and assortment plans for merchandise category and channel.
- Think creatively on packaging and presentation
- Research trends, trend spotting, and interpret trends based on how they relate to the customer.
- Work across multiple departments to ensure calendar is on schedule and projects and goods are arriving on time.
- Participate in review meetings, including edits, board review, pre-costing, line reviews, adoption and post-market review.
- Be the client/customer face for vendors, customers, suppliers, and licensors
- Work with Account and Sales to style the showroom
- Attend industry events and tradeshows as need
Qualifications
- Proficient experience and understanding of costume jewelry merchandising, fashion and design. Identifying trends and interpreting them based on client needs
- Ability to identify voids in customer assortments and identifying white space.
- Entrepreneurial drive tempered by judgment and strong leadership skills
- Superior organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented and meticulous
- Previous experience in costume jewelry, accessories and/or hair goods merchandising or buying; relevant experience in categories
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
- Able to travel
