Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of lab technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective laboratory operations.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with product specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine quality assurance tests on raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods to assess conformance to quality standards.
- Serve as primary technical expert and service person for all laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Regularly requiring working with pumps, electronics/electrical wiring, PLCs, hydraulics/pneumatics, etc.
- Maintain laboratory budget and minimized costs via proper supplier selection, cost effective management practices, and good instrumentation/equipment maintenance.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Previous experience in a quality control or laboratory management role within the aluminum manufacturing industry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of aluminum production processes, metallurgical principles, and quality management systems.
- Experience with laboratory instrumentation, testing methods, and data analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in computer software for data analysis and reporting (Microsoft Excel, Statistical Analysis Software).
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement principles.
