We re two established professionals who deeply enjoy our professional commitments, time with our adult children, and two dogs. We re seeking a team-playing household manager to join a small and collaborative team. We appreciate that everyone s household is unique. Ours has an incredible variety of staff who communicate and work well together. Our current household manager has been with us for many, many years (decades) and is moving into the wonderful world of retirement. We are so grateful for all she s done for us and are thrilled to see her finally get to relax after decades of loyalty to our family. Her absence will, undoubtedly, leave a huge hole in our hearts and our home. We re on the search for the next person to step in, integrate into our staff, our lives, and run things smoothly and efficiently. We ve got 40 hours for you with a consistent schedule. You ll be in our home Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm. We do travel occasionally and when we re gone we need someone staying at the house to care for our dogs. You can expect to be needed maybe one to two nights a month, with an occasional week once every two or three months. You will have ample notice for the majority of these evenings and will also have a team to lean on- so all of this doesn t fall on you alone.


This position will require you to have good communication, time management, and decisiveness. Having a broad knowledge of household items and their care will be very helpful. As a household manager, you will be expected to perform household duties such as routine cleaning, daily chores, laundry, running errands, stocking the refrigerator, washing and ironing bed linens, supervising the reception of visitors, assisting with and overseeing vendors and contractors. Additionally, you will be tasked with managing a green household, planning, and organizing social gatherings, holiday parties, meetings, or events, and light grocery shopping and keeping everything stocked. Seamstress skills are not a requirement, but knowing how to sew a button or do light tailoring would be such a bonus for us! As you can tell, we need you to have the ability to organize, coordinate, and manage the complex details of two executive professionals home.


As an integral part of our team of household staff, we need you to be professional and understand social etiquette. You will be part of a team, and you must have a team-playing attitude. We also need you to be tech-savvy, familiar with the ins and outs of incorporating technology into your flow and organizational approach. In your day-to-day, you can expect to use email platforms, scanners, e-calendars, electronic filing, and Google Workspace. Being vigilant and able to adapt to the changing needs of others, while being problem-solving oriented is extremely important. We can t wait to get to work with you every day, however, we will need you to hold confidentiality as a high moral value.


Must love dogs. We have two large and exceptionally trained dogs. They are the favorite of our staff, and they all take turns walking them. You re more than welcome to jump into the walking routine! They re very friendly and low-maintenance and will be your best friend immediately.
