Are you an accountant looking for an exciting opportunity in the construction industry? We are a leading construction company seeking a dynamic Accountant to join our team. This role is integral to our finance department and will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial health and making sure we are running as efficiently as possible. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our accounting operations, from accruals and deferrals to audit and month-end close. Responsibilities:

As our Permanent Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:

1. Maintaining and overseeing the company's financial data and compliance by accurately recording the day-to-day financial activities of the company.
2. Preparing and recording asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
3. Managing and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
4. Overseeing the accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliation.
5. Performing monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary.
6. Analyzing and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation, and analysis.
7. Ensuring the completion of regular financial and auditing reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
8. Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. An associates degree is required.
2. A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a similar role.
3. Proficient understanding of accruals, deferrals, audit, month-end close, journal entries, and full-cycle accounting.
4. Solid competency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced knowledge of Excel, and experience with accounting software.
5. Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
8. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
9. Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively.
