Perform Pipefitting, Fabrication, and Prep pipe and other metals for welding.
Read blueprints.
Operate machinery necessary to complete these tasks such as forklift, manlift, drill presses, pipe treader, saws & assorted hand tools and operate small cranes (< 16 tons).
Perform routine preventive maintenance inspections on plant equipment
Review yearly and, when necessary, assist in writing job procedures.
Responsible for following all Safety policies that have been established at the Houston plant e.g., Stop Work Policy, Zero Tolerance Policy, etc.
Help in preparing the applicable work permits.
Follow all safe job practices.
Immediately report any unsafe condition or behavior to your supervisor & write safety work orders or Near Miss reports to document the unsafe conditions or actions.
Ensure all applicable permits have been issued, equipment is properly locked out & tagged out & use the proper PPE & tools required for the specific job.
Adhere to the Standards for Employee Conduct.
Participate in all departmental safety meetings.
Participate in risk assessment audits (PHA, CTA, JSA, etc.) as applicable.
Take precision measurements of parts (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
Perform basic math.
Perform pipefitting skills.
Able to read blueprints.
Must possess knowledge of how to operate a computer.
Must be able to drive a forklift, manlift, and small cranes.
Knowledgeable in proper rigging techniques.
Basic Pipefitting training
Licensed crane operator (minimum 16 ton crane)
Able to safely operate a backhoe
Forklift license

Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required
Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC)
5+ years of experience pipefitting in a chemical plant or refinery
3+ years of general maintenance experience in a chemical plant or refinery
