Warehouse Specialist


Job Details

The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for receiving, storing and shipping of client goods in Dachser USA warehouses.

  • Responsible for coordination of receiving incoming goods, storing goods, picking/packing goods, releasing goods from storage and loading goods for transport.
  • Performs common warehouse tasks, such as cleaning the warehouse, performing common building maintenance & safety checks of equipment.
  • Operates a forklift according to safety requirements.
  • Accounts for warehouse inventory by making accounting entries using Dachser internal operating systems and methods.
  • Collaborates with all departments within the branch and the company at large, as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience working in a warehouse setting.
  • 1 year of freight forwarding or logistics experience preferred.
  • Prior experience operating a forklift/ reach truck. Valid forklift certification preferred.
  • Experience in working with Radio Data Driven Warehouse Management Environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated language proficiency (oral, comprehension and written) in English.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ Work Environment:
  • No heavy lifting is expected; although exertion of up to 20 pounds of force may be required on occasion.
  • Manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment, such as computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time is common.
  • Hearing and vision within average range to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
  • This position is performed in a traditional office setting.
