PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Receive and control inventory, move materials, parts, inventory, and equipment around a warehouse using manual hand carts and industrial trucks, pull materials, parts, and inventory to fulfill work orders, and to perform other general labor activities.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receive incoming inventory in a timely manner.

  • Open and examine incoming shipment contents and compare with packaging list, manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of inventory being received.
  • Communicate any discrepancies to the appropriate departments.
  • Move inventory to the inspection area. Inspect and communicate any damage to the appropriate department or supervisor.
  • Move inventory to appropriate departments after inspection has been completed. Communicate with lead assembly technicians that inventory is now in their areas.
Control Inventory
  • Enter incoming and outgoing inventory information into J.D. Edwards by hand or by a hand-held scanner for recordkeeping, reporting, and accounting purposes.
  • Transport and store incoming inventory, materials, and supplies in the warehouse in the appropriate location to maintain an accurate inventory of stock.
  • Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
  • Perform inventory adjustments as instructed in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform reversals and/or receipts as instructed by the Finance Department in accordance with established procedures.
Prepare, inspect, and ship inventory to distributors, customers and/or other Richter locations.
  • Pull inventory for orders to be shipped from pick slips. Pick slips will be auto-printed to the printer. Must be able to request pick slips from appropriate personnel when needed.
  • Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, needed to route materials and for regulatory compliance.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to ensure correct order fulfillment.
  • Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping.
  • Coordinate outgoing shipping activities with external parties. Contact shipping carrier to schedule orders for pick-up and issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
Inspect and maintain Company delivery vehicles.
  • Inspect and maintain company vehicles as needed, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
  • Maintain records, such as vehicle service or billing statements, in accordance with company procedures.
  • Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles or traffic accidents to supervisor.
  • Drive vehicle to nearest gas station for fuel and nearest maintenance shop for service, as directed, obeying traffic laws and following any established traffic and transportation procedures.
Other Duties
  • Submit expense reports for purchased items for approval, such as shop supplies and fuel.
  • Manage and order appropriate supplies to perform daily work, such as shipping boxes, tape, wooden pallets, etc.
  • Maintains a clean working environment at all times. Perform general housekeeping to ensure a safe work area, which includes, sweeping and keeping work area and warehouse organized.
  • Act as backup to Shipping and Receiving Coordinator.
  • Perform other duties as needed or requested.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of similar work experience
OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid TWIC (or ability to obtain one)
  • Valid Powered Industrial Truck (forklift) certification for Class II (Electric Motor Narrow Aisle) truck and Class IV (Internal Combustion Engine) trucks
  • Ability to proficiently operate a Class II forklift
  • Ability to work in a safely manner and follow instructions (orally and in writing)
COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Computer literate
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook & Word)
  • Knowledge of J.D. Edwards or equivalent

Physical Requirements:
  • General Physical Activities. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, handling, and carrying materials.
  • Handling and Moving Objects. Use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended period of time.
  • Ability to operate an overhead hoist.
  • Ability to operate a small aisle lift.
