The Tanaka front of the house service associate Is a true professional. Cheerful, responsible, mature, carries themselves with confidence and pride, is warm and always exudes hospitality. Always smiling! Treats every customer as a welcome guest in the establishment. Making every customer feel wanted by taking an individual and customer first approach in all interactions.

The position will order any items that are prepared to order and any other items that have been brought to the register by the guest. Prepared to order items will flowto the appropriate station to the kitchen or the coffee station. The register position is also responsible for all things pastry case service. They should describe and sell items, retrieve, serve pastries, and make sure the case is always presentable. It is required of every associate to be knowledgeable and have a full understanding of the menu and all the products that are served. This knowledge extends to item recognition, pronunciation, translations, product sourcing, ingredients, allergens, modifications, etc. Knows which modifications we can and cannot accommodate.

The individual must also follow all appropriate Company policies and procedures outlined in the department training manual and employee handbook. Maintain the highest professional level of service standards. Support the direction of the restaurant in the context of the restaurant group.

Responsibilities:

  • Working as a team with FOH and BOH to ensure consistency and timely experience for Tanaka guests through customer service and food quality.
  • Engages guests, coworkers, and managers with a positive, friendly, professional approach during all interactions.
  • Follows company policies, state food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Is always on time, prepared, dressed to standards with neat and tidy appearance by scheduled shift start time.
  • Always exhibits professional, calm, patient, and warm demeanor in high volume, stressful environment with efficiency and mindfulness.
  • Generates returning guests, learn guest names to create an individualized and personable experience.
  • Keeping an eye on guests that need help, bussing or interacting with tables that need attention of any kind.
  • Delivers food to guests and checks with them to make sure they have everything they need, every time. Assists expeditor needs to ensure all guests receive their orders in a timely manner.
  • Assist in coffee and drink execution when needed.
  • Responsible for making sure the vibe of our store is ready for entering guests. This means keeping music refreshed and proper for the time of day, keeping the cafe clean and maintained, and keeping the overall hospitality and energy at a great spot.
  • Solid understanding of the POS, Delivery, KDS systems. Maintains that all dine in and take out orders are entered and processed in a timely manner. Manages take out, packaging, getting orders into the right hands, proper item labeling, consistently and accurately.
  • Understands all delivery portal tablets and how to submit orders for each outlet.
  • Knowledgeable of all ordering and payment collection methods.
  • Answers phones in a timely manner, always pleasant and respectful to all guests. Responds to questions or directs to someone who does.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the restaurant including employee areas, patios, and bathrooms.
  • Listen, talk, smile, and thank the guest and invite them back. As the transaction is coming to a close, it s important to Learn the Guests name and use them to create the individualized and personable experience.
Qualifications:
  • Must be able to explain and demonstrate the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Able to obtain a valid food service permit.
  • Must be able to work a variety of scheduled shifts, based on the needs and volume of the operation (example: late hours, holidays, weekend, etc.).
  • Must work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates good time management skills and multitasking skills.
  • Follows Company and state safety guidelines to provide a safe working environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to continuously stand and lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to frequently walk, bend, and reach overhead.
  • Will be occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
