Business Development Representative


Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and results driven Business Development Representative to join a leading custom furniture manufacturer and commercial reupholsterer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with potential clients, and driving revenue growth for the company. This role requires a proactive approach to sales, and excellent communication skills. A base understanding of the furniture manufacturing and commercial reupholstery industries is helpful, however industry education will be provided.


The ideal candidate will cultivate relationships with prospective clients in order to catalyze business development success. This individual will schedule meetings with clients in order to understand their needs. They will also work closely with sales and marketing teams to uncover new leads.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prospecting and Lead Generation
  • Identify, research, and set meetings with potential clients in targeted industries we serve (Architects and Designers, Mill Shop/ Construction, Contract Manufacturers (i.e. Bray Whaler) and end use market verticals (Hospitality, Restaurants, Retail, Healthcare) resulting in new clients.
  • Identify and penetrate prospects with new projects within target markets.
  • Generate leads through creative attraction campaigns including networking, cold calling, email, education events, and other outreach strategies.
  • Utilize Pipedrive CRM to manage and track leads, contacts, and sales activities
  • Achieving new business revenue goals
  • Set goals, set strategy and execution action plan to build pipeline to achieve quota consistently quarter over quarter and year over year.
  • Sell the value proposition of Fortner, Inc. and how it helps solve client challenges.
  • Build and maintain a consistently strong pipeline
  • Achieve company objectives on prospect outreach.
  • Facilitate the management of commercial inbound build opportunities coming through channels such as Infoline, jot forms, web traffic intelligence, and direct call-ins. In some instances managing the entire sales process to ensure a high quality experience with Fortner.
  • Research and participate in groups and industry events to identify new prospects.
  • Creating value propositions that meet the customer's needs
  • Ability to ask open ended questions, listen, and understand customer needs.
  • Ability to combine learnings from clients with Fortner s value proposition to drive customer loyalty, sales, and profits.
  • Align the solution to the meet the customer s unique needs and technical requirement
  • Collaboration and Teamwork
  • Work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, estimator, and production, to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop materials, presentations, and sales collateral.
  • Provide Voice of Customer to assist in creating new campaigns to increase lead activity.
  • Actively participate in Fortner meetings and training as required.
  • Collaborate with the account executives as resources to support the sales process as appropriate.
  • Pass off qualified leads to account managers with all necessary information to effectively facilitate the opportunity to ensure successful outcomes.


QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor s degree in sales, marketing, or business administration (preferred)
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize task, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills: writing, editing, and presenting
  • Ability and experience selling to Manager and Director levels within an organization
  • Experience and execution of quarterly and annual business plans
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned annual/quarterly goals
  • Proficient using CRM software and Microsoft Office products. Especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to travel as needed
