Production Supervisor


Job Details

MIMIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


High School Diploma/GED required. College coursework/certifications or degree is preferred. At least five years experience working in a production environment as a leader/Supervisor. An understanding of extrusion cause and effects is encouraged.


GENERAL:


Supervise, direct, and develop personnel in the safe and effective utilization of the plant's manufacturing facilities. Produces those products to the company's and customer's specifications according to quality standards and production schedules. Ability to work day and night shifts.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, all Company policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Administers Safety on the production shift level; including, but not limited to, conducting safety training, shift meetings, inspections, reporting, incident investigation, and follow-up.
  • Completes accurate and timely reports and paperwork including any documents generated during the shift.
  • Recommends alterations and redesign of equipment through use of root cause analysis as they become either obsolete, or in need of alteration or redesign.
  • Directs, supervises, and develops personnel to meet or exceed goals and objectives such as production output, scrap rates, material utilization, and regrind usage. Also recommends promotions, demotions and disciplinary action of subordinates.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Directs, supervises, and develops the personnel within his responsibility with regard to the quality of the product to Homelands standards, to include testing and record keeping.
  • Maintains self-appearance, morals, comments, gestures, befitting a representative of HVP.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

12-hour schedule 2,2,3 rotation:


Week One: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (1st half)

Wek Two: Saturday (2nd half), Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday
