Heavy Highway Construction Surveyor
Department: Engineering
Reports To : VP Engineering
Status: Non - Exempt
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints and specifications
Layout of curbs, structures, drainage, basins, utilities and edge of pavements, including grade calculations
Assist with gathering as-built (record survey) data when required
Conduct existing condition surveys
Resolve technical problems and assist with training field employees on GPS equipment
Establish GPS Control / calibrations for field operations
Setup and maintain GPS equipment for field operations, including machine controls
Work closely with Riegler field and office personnel
Qualifications:
3 years + experience jobsite layout staking
Associates degree (preferred) related to surveying
Proficiency in reading blueprints and specifications
Experience using GPS and robotic surveying technologies, methods, and software
Proficiency with Trimble (preferred) construction layout software and equipment
Ability to work 5-6 days a week, 8-12 hours a day
