My client is seeking a strategic leader with a blend of creativity and analytical skills, demonstrated in driving growth in global markets. As the VP of Creative Merchandising, you will be tasked with developing and executing the product development and merchandising strategy for your category, requiring a passion for product, an entrepreneurial mindset, and strong leadership abilities to manage a team effectively within tight timelines.
*Client Details*
My client is a leading arts and craft and fashion consumer product company. We develop and distribute a large scope of categories from fashionable jewelry and apparel crafts to seasonal stationery & impulse products.
*Description*
* Lead merchandising and brand management for Kids Craft, Kids Activity, and/or STEM Education categories, aligning with corporate goals.
* Develop and execute brand strategies, collaborating with executives and licensing teams.
* Drive category growth and profitability through brand management and expansion.
* Manage new product development and portfolio maintenance.
* Collaborate with sales to identify growth opportunities and creative development avenues.
* Oversee assortment planning and SKU strategy in alignment with brand strategies.
* Improve product value, quality, and messaging for increased productivity and profitability.
* Coordinate communication between US and overseas offices on brands and sourcing.
* Ensure product safety and compliance for kids' categories.
* Manage merchandising to ensure timely product delivery at retail.
* Produce quarterly competitive analysis reports, identifying market gaps and opportunities.
* Prepare for retail presentations and trade shows.
* Lead strategic cost negotiations with global sourcing and merchandising teams.
* Track POS data and consumer sentiment for product and distribution improvements.
* Train and mentor the merchandising team.
*Profile*
* Minimum of 10 years of merchandising/brand management experience, preferably in a fast-paced industry.Demonstrated experience in strategy development and execution.
* Familiarity with value channel and national accounts preferred.
* Strong leadership and team development abilities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to large audiences effectively.
