OVERVIEW
Roe Jan Brewing Company is a busy fast-casual restaurant serving our own craft beer and traditional pub fare. We're looking to add line cooks to our hardworking, friendly kitchen team. Cooks work in an open kitchen environment and rotate between stations, including cold, fryer, saute, and wood-fired grill. Hours with greatest need are Thursday evenings and Saturday/Sunday afternoons and evenings; additional days available. We are located in historic, rural HILLSDALE, NY -- 2 hours north of NYC and halfway between Hudson, NY and Great Barrington, MA. Please be sure you are aware of our location before you apply!
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prep and Station Setup
- Prep items needed for that day's service
- Stock and set up station when working on the line
Service
- Prepare and plate menu items as specified in our recipes, working in coordination with other cooks
- Ensure that items are prepared in a timely manner, as directed by the kitchen manager
- Constantly taste food for balance and quality control
- Restock ingredients at station as needed
Breakdown
- Wrap all remaining food and store appropriately
- Wipe down all surfaces and mop floor
REQUIREMENTS
- One year of restaurant experience
- Good understanding of ingredients, equipment and cooking techniques
- Ability to follow directions with speed and accuracy
- Ability to get along with and work as part of a team
