This positon prepares and protects product in a range of sizes for shipping by building wooden crates or boxes using woodworking hand tools or powered tools to a planned schedule.

This role is considered a non-exempt position for purposes of federal wage and hour law.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:**

* Able to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

* Attention to detail and group problem-solving skills required.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:**

* High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**

* Medium to Heavy Work - Exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 35 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 15 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

* Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.

* Frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms.

* Required to walk.

* Must be able to bend over.

* Must be able to see close up and also at a distance.

* Must be able to talk and hear.

**WORKING CONDITIONS:**

* Manufacturing environment may cause exposure to heat, noise, vibration, odors or dust.

* Ambient temperatures.

* Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.

* The noise level is usually moderate but may be severe at times.

* Usually work a standard work week but may be required to work some evenings and weekends to meet customer demand.
