Senior Maintenance Manager

LEAD3R is seeking an experienced Facility Maintenance Manager to join our client who is a global medical device manufacturer in Charleston, South Carolina.


In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of all facilities equipment. The role leads the strategic direction and management of facilities projects and is the responsible leader for all building and facilities related issues in respect to planned and reactive maintenance, and the improvement of facility equipment.


Responsibilities:

  • Equipment & Staff Management: Oversee a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring efficient equipment operation and implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
  • Project Leadership: Drive strategic facilities projects, managing budgets and timelines for construction, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Compliance & Optimization: Ensure facilities adhere to all local zoning and safety regulations, prioritizing a culture of safety and enforcing health & safety protocols. Utilize CMMS to streamline work orders and optimize resource allocation.
  • Technical Expertise: Troubleshoot complex equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Leverage your knowledge of BMS, EMS, and various building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
  • Strategic Planning & Growth: Develop and manage facilities plans aligned with company growth, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and productivity.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between facilities departments and other stakeholders, fostering teamwork and clear communication.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in facilities maintenance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective maintenance programs and leading a strong team.
  • Experience in a highly regulated environment (ISO 13485, FDA) and with complex manufacturing systems (injection molding, automation, intralogistics) is a strong plus.
  • Experience with Lean 6 Sigma methodologies, continuous cost reduction, and root cause analysis is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
