Overview:

This position focuses mainly on providing a safe environment for guests and employees by routinely conducting building/ground inspections to assure regulatory compliance; responds to fires and other emergencies as needed; and investigates first aid incident reports as necessary.


Responsibilities:
  • Performs other duties as assigned. For example, works in other departments and sections.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to successfully complete all training.
  • Keeps all work areas clean.
  • Cleans and maintains supplies and equipment.
  • Processes and completes departmental paperwork and maintains a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Assists outside agencies with inspections, as needed.
  • Performs routine fire and safety inspections.
  • Performs thorough investigations and follow-up inspections for corrective action and reports continued safety issues to the Safety Area Manager.
  • Promptly responds to and assists with park emergencies.
  • Partners with departments to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulations.
  • Assists with the regular maintenance of emergency equipment.
  • Assists First Aid staff as needed.
  • Operates emergency vehicles.
  • Assists with fire training when needed, i.e. fire extinguisher training.
  • Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
  • Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Hazardous Materials Awareness certification preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience in fire service and minimum of 1 year as an EMT.
  • Must possess Emergency Vehicle Operator Certification (EVOC), class II.
  • Valid Ropes II certification preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Firefighter II certification.
  • Must have a valid Virginia driver's license.
  • Must possess a valid Commonwealth of Virginia EMT certification (Basic, Enhanced, Intermediate, or Paramedic).
  • Must possess a valid CPR certification.
  • Ability to demonstrate familiarity using OSHA, NFPA, and Virginia Fire code regulatory manuals.
  • Ability to drive, or learn to drive, a vehicle with a manual transmission.
  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional public relations skills
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Driver's License
