**Position Summary:**

The Retail Supervisor manages production, assembly and service of patient, customer, and catered meals with maintaining service and sanitation standards. Coordinates ordering and receiving of all food and supplies for the department. Stores, maintains, and issues supplies to hospital departments. Supervises employees supporting receiving food and supplies. Participates in weekend rotation for opening/closing of kitchen where provides supervision and technical support for the Dietary employees. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Food and Nutrition Services Department. Provide indirect patient care through meal service. Innovativeness is required to improve work procedures and methods, resulting in some time and cost savings. Communication is required outside of the work group to exchange work related information. Strong customer service and supervision skills to appropriately deal with employees and customers.

* Consistently receives food and supplies ensuring accuracy through checks on proper weight, count, and quality while matching to invoice.

* Accurately reports shortages and other discrepancies.

* Maintains standards for receiving and storage as indicated in H.A.C.C.P. manual.

* Consistently maintains all refrigerators, freezers, store room and storage areas according to local health regulations.

* Inspects regularly for any spoiled foods or insect infestations. Reports all issues to his manager, and documents as per policy.

* Inventories food and supplies according to established inventory procedures. Updates costs as need to reflect accurate information.

* Responsible for floor stock system, and assembly of stocks for distribution.

* Performs duties in a manner that is consistent with the Hospitals Service Excellence Vision and Values.

**Education/Experience Required:**

* Associate Degree (food or business related), or Dietary Manager Certification is required, or a High School diploma with a minimum of three (3) years food service experience with two (2) years of supervisory experience.

* Must have or be able to pass ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification within probationary period.
