Responsibilities:

  • It is the responsibility of the Logistics Manager to lead activities tied to the scheduling of production materials and services to ensure 100% final product delivery while minimizing inventory, handling, and logistics costs in a Just in Time / Just in Sequence production environment.
  • Review and communicate daily and weekly material requirements for both manufactured and supplied products, assist and participate in PPAP and PSO activity.
  • Interface with the Customer and or Supplier to ensure prompt resolution to concerns.
  • Interface with Purchasing to ensure proper procurement of production parts.
  • Lead Logistics team to ensure consistent activities on all 3 Shifts.
  • Warranty returns.
  • Coordinate the logistics of both standard and non-standard inbound / outbound shipments of product.
  • Various audit activities (Daily, Layered, Supplier, Internal and External).
  • Initiate Continuous Improvement ideas.
  • Ensuring compliance to and participate in IATF 16949 compliance & ISO 14001 certification.
  • Ensure computer/internet access to Customer Specific Portals and department specific required Applications.
  • Support and/ or drive adherence, changes or improvements tied to improve overall plant Health and Safety.
  • Take every precaution reasonable to protect the Health and Safety of the workers.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels in alignment division s KPI s (expedited freight, days of inventory and stock levels).
  • Maintain open communication with Logistics company to eliminate premium freight or stock outs.
  • Manage supply base to ensure their ability to meet releases.
  • Environmental Management
  • WCM Duties as assigned.
  • Has the ability to stop production upon notifying the Supervisor and Plant Manager for Safety Related matters requiring immediate repair.
  • Has the ability to stop production upon notifying the Supervisor and Plant Manager for quality related nonconforming matters requiring immediate repair.
  • Ensuring compliance to and participate in IATF 16949 and CSR (Customer Specific Requirements) compliance & ISO 14001 certification.
  • Supporting the launch of ISO 45001 and ISO 50001
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Profile Required:

  • Tier 1 knowledge an asset
  • 5+ years in a Materials role
  • APICS training
  • SAP or other MRP working knowledge.
  • Covisint knowledge
  • Good knowledge of JIS process
  • Good problem-solving skills 8D
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • IATF16949/CSR (Customer Specific Requirements) ISO 14001
  • Previous supply chain management experience in a JIT environment
  • Previous knowledge of DCX material flow
