Summary:
Metal Sales is the nation's largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. Our Detroit Lakes branch has an opening on our production team for a Loader (Forklift Operator).
This is a permanent full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package. Starting pay ranges from $20.00 to $26.00, depending on experience.
Regular hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Overtime including working on weekends may be required.
A Loader is the last person to see the product before it gets to our customer. Each product load has a direct reflection on Metal Sales and thus accuracy and care must occur with every product load.
You'll be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Safely operating a forklift to load Metal Sales multi-stop trucks and customer will calls as they come in.
- Ensuring product is damage free and piece counts match order.
- Visually inspecting trailer before loading and reporting anything unusual.
- Checking fluids on loading trucks.
- Assisting in unloading & loading of C/C trucks as needed.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment and assisting in other departments as needed.
The most qualified candidates will have:
- Experience working in a distribution or manufacturing environment
- Ability to safely operate a forklift
- Basic math skills, including ability to read a tape measure
- Ability to work independently and with others
- High school diploma or GED
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Must be able to read, hear, talk, drive lift trucks, wear PPE, and lift up to 75 lbs. repetitively
- Must be able to stand, walk, and/or sit approximately 7 u0026frac12; hours minimum per work shift
- Must be able to tolerate extreme temperature changes in the winter and summer months
- Noise level is moderate to loud
