Job Description:
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Carrier Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with carriers to secure capacity and ensure the timely and efficient movement of freight. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of logistics, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and prospect potential carrier partners to expand M&P's network and capacity.
- Negotiate rates and terms with carriers to ensure competitive pricing and service levels.
- Manage relationships with existing carriers to maintain high levels of service and address any issues or concerns.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including operations and customer service, to coordinate shipments and resolve any transportation-related issues.
- Track and monitor carrier performance, including on-time delivery, claims, and billing accuracy.
- Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes that may impact carrier capacity and rates.
- Prepare and present reports and analysis to management regarding carrier performance, market trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records of carrier contracts, rates, and communications.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in carrier sales or freight brokerage with a strong track record of success.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with carriers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, carriers, and customers.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices is a plus.
