Job Duties

Position is responsible for overseeing and managing the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant and public potable water distribution system in accordance with federal and state codes. Plans maintenance and supervises Treatment Plant Operators. Inspects and tests equipment and water as required. Maintains required documentation. Operates and manages a wastewater treatment plant and water system in accordance with regulations set by the Commonwealth of Virginia and Federal Agencies.

Minimum Qualifications

Class 2 Wastewater License required. Demonstrated ability to independently carry out the required duties without direct supervision. Extensive training and experience in wastewater or water treatment plant operation as evidenced by the level of licensure. Experience in preparing and maintaining operating budgets.

Additional Considerations

High School diploma or equivalent. Trades experience with a background in electrical or plumbing. Experience in developing and maintaining operating budgets.
