Job Summary
The Legal Services Specialist at Hope United Survivor Network supports the agency by providing hope and healing to survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, elder abuse and sexual assault by providing support to clients, direct service and leader-ship staff.
This position is for a temporary part-time Client Care Specialist, 20-25 hours a week at $19.50 hourly rate, no benefits.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Using trauma-informed, client-centered approach:

Client Care

  • Support clients through the judicial process including court accompaniment.
  • Provide childcare for clients when attending court or service related appointments
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients by providing a trauma-informed approach
  • Answer agency phone calls, screen and direct callers as appropriate and provide accurate description of services
  • Act with clients in mind and work to meet client needs and expectations to the extent possible
  • Gather initial intake information, connect with appropriate staff member
  • Provide crisis intervention services by telephone or in person as necessary including responding to hotline calls
Administration
  • Maintain accurate database information by entering required client information
  • Partner with direct care staff to maintain up-to-date client files (may include electronic/physical files)
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization and forms in the HUSN courthouse offices
  • Adhere to agency procedures concerning documentation, Referral Incident Reports, Crisis Call Sheets, Client Satisfaction Surveys and Participate in the Quality Assurance Process.
  • Clerical duties to support leadership to include collecting, preparing, and disseminating various forms, documentation and other duties as assigned
  • Courthouse attire required
Professional Development
  • Maintain and develop skills and knowledge by attending training needed for the job
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Our Legal Services Specialist must be team-oriented, self-motivated, and empathetic to clients while contributing to Hope United Survivor Network's mission
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years human services, administrative or customer care experience
  • Proficient in PC applications (Word, Excel)

PREFERENCES
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Experience working with survivors
  • Experience in human services field
  • Experience in legal services
