Apprentice Maintenance Technician Job Summary:

Position is located in Chevy Chase, MD

The Apprentice Maintenance Technician performs building operations, customer service, and community enhancement. This team player will complete or assist with electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating, and other trades within a residential building. Daily duties include working with the property management team to perform preventive maintenance, respond to service tickets, and provide a safe environment for building tenants and visitors.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

$21 to $23 per hour depending on training courses taken and practical experience

PRIMARY BUILDING ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform building and systems inspections, making necessary modifications to building systems

Complete Preventive and Corrective Maintenance requests professionally

Work with vendors to complete contracted work orders to meet expectations

Maintain records, reports, and evaluations, and provide recommendations regarding building maintenance operations

Identify and order parts, materials, equipment, and supplies as needed

Manage Building Management System (BMS) / Energy Management System (EMS) as needed

Maintain a clean engineering shop, mechanical plant, mechanical rooms, and general building appearance

Follow all safety rules and regulations

Perform related work as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

1 - 3 years maintaining equipment and systems in residential buildings

Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and skills

Training and skills in maintaining and repairing equipment

Technology skills necessary to manage work order applications on mobile phone

High School diploma or equivalent, and must be able to communicate effectively in English

Occasionally work overtime to perform necessary repairs or maintenance that are necessary to complete

Must meet the occupation requirements, such as lifting 50 lbs., walking distances, kneeling for 1 hour, and climbing ladders.

Must have reliable transportation

Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check

A Universal CFC certification not required, but a plus
