**SUMMARY**
Responsible for providing support for the material goods and service needs of the organization by performing all aspects of the purchasing process including (but not limited to): creation and placement of purchase orders, sourcing vendor options, quoting, returns, negotiation, and planning within the companys timing, quality and pricing specifications.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
* Research, select and purchase quality products and materials
* Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing
* Process requisitions and update management on status of orders
* Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels
* Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery
* Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions
* Coordinate with inventory team, management, and stockroom as required
* Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management
**Essential Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:**
* High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required, Associates degree or higher preferred. Special consideration will be given to those applicants with at least some college courses in Business Administration, Business Management, Marketing and/or Accounting or other related fields of study
* 3 - 5 years relevant experience required similar roles may include Purchasing Clerk, Purchasing Specialist, Supply Chain Clerk or other roles where the applicant has worked directly with vendors and suppliers in a business related role
* Excellent and proven computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint)
* Epicor software experience a huge plus but not required
* Critical thinking and negotiation skills as well as a strong business acumen
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Strong attention to detail and working in an environment with regular disruption
* Able to prioritize and reprioritize work in an ever changing business environment
