Twin City Staffing is currently seeking a talented CAD / CAM drafter to join our client, a reputable woodworking company dedicated to crafting high-quality custom wood products. If you have expertise in woodworking and CAD / CAM software, this position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and production of bespoke woodwork projects.
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Wage: $23 - $35 per hour
Hours: 8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday

Responsibilitiesof the CAD / CAM drafter: - Collaborate with the owner to create detailed technical drawings and models for woodwork projects using CAD software.
- Develop CAM programs for CNC machines to facilitate precision cutting, carving, and milling of wood components.
- Translate conceptual sketches and design concepts into accurate and manufacturable CAD/CAM files.
- Ensure that designs meet aesthetic, functional, and structural requirements while adhering to project timelines and budgets.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations to assess the viability of design concepts and propose solutions to optimize production processes.
- Generate material lists, cutting schedules, and assembly instructions to support the manufacturing process.
- Collaborate closely with production teams to provide guidance and technical support during the fabrication and assembly of woodwork components.
- Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain organized files and documentation of CAD/CAM designs and revisions.
Requirementsof the CAD / CAM drafter: - Proven experience as a CAD/CAM Drafter in the woodworking industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and CAM software (e.g., AlphaCAM, VCarve Pro).
- In-depth knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and joinery methods.
- Familiarity with CNC machining processes and programming for woodwork applications.
