Altitude Veterinary Hospital provides a Higher Level of Care for small pets. At Altitude we understand that our pets are more than just pets, they are family. In addition to being AAHA accredited, we provide a wide range of services including specialty services such as acupuncture and TPLOs. This document is to provide a working job description for the position of Assistant. There may be other tasks or requirements that this document doesnt embody. It is to serve as a general outline of what a typical day may entail.
Some of the responsibilities of an Assistant are:
- Daily maintenance of exam rooms including cleaning, stocking, and organizing
- Cleaning and maintenance of working areas including tables, counters, and other work areas
- Assisting Veterinary Assistants and Certified Technicians with check sheet duties
- Helping restrain pets when needed
- Ensure patients have their food, water, and walks as needed or directed by a Veterinary Assistant, Certified Technician or Doctor
- Under the guidance of Veterinary Assistants and Certified Technicians, keep an eye/ear out for nail trims and suture removals
- Proactively find tasks that can assist their fellow Team Members
- Other responsibilities as assigned
