Printed Products Specialist


Job Details

We are seeking a Printed Product Specialist to manage the strategic partner relationships within our Print, Warehousing, and Fulfillment categories. This position is part of our Strategic Partner Development team and manages the day-to-day Supplier-related issues and questions.This individual must develop a strong understanding of the category in order to make recommendations and execute key activities in order to build and maintain a best in industry Preferred Supplier Network. Regular collaboration with Marketing and Sales is required to leverage communications, tools, and resources to promote the Preferred Supplier benefits to the Proforma Owner network.


Responsibilities:

  • Build/establish strategic relationships with preferred vendors
  • Continually profile category (supplier capabilities, geographic locations, market trends, etc.) and define gaps and areas for improvement
  • Grow and improve category knowledge and processes to ensure stakeholders are informed with relevant and up-to-date information; coordinate inclusion of key information in Owner and Supplier communications
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop tools that educate Owners on key benefits of the category; maintain tools within internal reference systems
  • Collaborate with Sales to identify targeted activities to support Suppliers in their efforts to grow sales
  • Educate Suppliers on Preferred Supplier Network benefits and increase adoption of available tools and benefits
  • Prepare quarterly defined reports and ad hoc reports (as needed)
  • Monitor supplier performance indicators and initiate supplier reviews in an effort to drive improvement and reduce risk
  • Lead quarterly business reviews, including preparing slide deck, leading presentation and discussions, and ensuring all follow-up items are captured and completed
  • Educate and coach Owners and internal team members on category-specific knowledge via training classes, webinars and individual sessions
  • Assist with sourcing product and identifying the correct vendors to produce jobs based on specification such as vendor capabilities, quantity, production methods
  • Serve as the first point of escalation when resolving order issues; negotiate outcomes that are favorable to both parties and track activities to identify trends
  • Fulfill organizational needs supporting marketing and sales initiatives within the category; this may include sourcing and/or ordering/tracking of products
  • Conduct pricing exercises and quoting on a per project basis
  • Recruit vendors and products for trade show participation and sponsorships
  • Attend events and coordinate Supplier-related activities to ensure successful execution of events
  • Maintain accurate Supplier data within our internal business management system
  • Serve as an expert to internal system s Supplier-based modules, conducting systems training and support to Owners and Suppliers


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-4 years experience in the commercial print or business documents industry in a customer service, account manager, or support role (applicants without this industry experience will not be considered)
  • Strong analytical/project skills, capable of leading and managing a variety of initiatives
  • Strong detail and organization skills
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
  • Ability to establish rapport and build business relationships
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong self-motivation and positive, can-do, team-oriented attitude
  • Proficiency on computer skills and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); able to quickly learn and understand proprietary software
  • Travel required for meetings and events
  • College degree preferred
