Legal & Compliance Intern Responsibilities
- Assist in the support of various areas of the business by reviewing, revising and drafting contracts, conducting legal research, and resolving legal issues
- Draft internal memoranda analyzing various legal subjects relevant to the agency
- Assist in the maintenance and organization of corporate records and agreements
- Perform research and prepare reports on assigned topics and /or projects overseen by direct report
- Review policies and policy forms, contracts and other instruments for compliance with laws and regulations
- Assist in the maintenance and progression of company procedures
- Update agreement templates for use throughout the organization
Knowledge/Skills
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel
- Basic knowledge of contract principals
- Ability to perform legal research and analysis
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and present information to diverse groups and individuals
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical background and judgment
- Ability to take initiative, assess priorities, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines
- Proven ability to work with highly sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
Requirements
- Applicant must be currently enrolled as a student in a college program with course work related in legal and/or business or must be a current law student at an ABA accredited law school.
