About the Role


Green Dot Labs seeks a highly motivated, experienced Associate Director, Marketing: Paid & Owned Media. This individual will play a critical role in the organization, co-leading the marketing department on a day-to-day basis, leading the strategic marketing team, and taking hands-on responsibility for social media, email marketing, website, customer service, community service, and collateral development.

Responsibilities


Leadership

  • Provide co-leadership and strategic oversight to the marketing department, and directly lead the strategic marketing team fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment
  • Set clear goals and objectives for the marketing department and the strategic marketing team, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of marketing initiatives
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing opportunities for growth and advancement within the organization
  • Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure timeliness and consistency in messaging, quality, and accuracy across all marketing work product


Social Media

  • Develop and execute social media strategies and plans to drive brand awareness, engagement, and conversion across various platforms
  • Responsible for creation of compelling and relevant social media content, including posts, stories, videos, polls, etc.


Email Marketing

  • Develop and implement strategic email marketing plans to nurture leads, retain customers, and drive sales
  • Responsible for creation of engaging email content, including newsletters, promotions, and product announcements
  • Manage email campaign deployment, segmentation, and testing to optimize performance and deliver targeted messaging


Website Management

  • Oversee maintenance and ongoing development of the Green Dot Labs website, ensuring findability, functionality, usability, and alignment with product, marketing, and sales initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to update website content, features, and design elements as needed


Customer Service/Community Engagement:

  • Partner with customer service to monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and address customer feedback or issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Foster a sense of community and brand advocacy among customers through proactive engagement, user-generated content initiatives, and community-building activities
  • Collateral Development
  • Collaborate with sales and design teams to co-plan and execute retail kits, flyers, posters, and other collateral materials that support brand initiatives and promotions


Advertising Campaigns

  • Co-conceptualize creative ideas and executions for advertising campaigns, including digital and direct mail channels
  • Manage planning, fulfillment, and optimization of ad campaigns to drive brand awareness, traffic, and conversions
  • Measurement & Optimization
  • Monitor metrics, evaluate performance across all disciplines/channels, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement


Qualifications (7+ years)

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred but not required
  • 8+ years of experience in digital marketing, social media management, email marketing, website management, and/or SEO, preferably within the cannabis industry or for CPG brands
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful paid and owned media strategies that drive brand growth and engagement
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, email marketing best practices, website management principles, and digital advertising channels
  • Exceptional communication, writing, and creative skills, with the ability to craft compelling content and messaging for different audiences and channels
  • Proficiency in marketing automation platforms, email service providers, content management systems, and social media management tools
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, derive insights, and make data-driven decisions to optimize performance and ROI
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and manage a team of marketing professionals
  • Passion for the cannabis industry
  • Must be able to get and maintain CO MED badge


Compensation:

89,000-143,000/ year
