Purpose of Position:

The Procurement Analyst is a key individual contributor to the procurement team, primarily responsible for directs categories (Commodities & Ingredients). This role requires deep analytical and problem-solving abilities to be able to read and interpret commodity and ingredient market developments on a regular basis and how those price fluctuations and market dynamics impact a food manufacturing business. Additionally, this role will also provide analytical and administrative support to the team through activities like reporting, compliance, and cross-functional projects. The position is hybrid, you are required to work onsite a couple days a week in our office based in Duluth, GA.


Responsibilities

Track Ag/soft commodities like Cocoa, Sugar, Dairy, Fats & Oils, Corn and Wheat markets regularly and communicate ongoing developments

Track USDA, Industry and Market Research/Market Intelligence publications to provide inputs into commodity price direction, physicals markets, supplier pricing models and tweak sourcing strategies

Assist with tracking price movements in the physicals market across categories (basis, premiums, overages, differentials and ratios) based on offers received from suppliers and market intelligence gathered

Maintain and report on hedge/futures price levels secured for materials that are priced based on respective benchmark indexes

Build and maintain internally generated and supplier provided pricing models to simulate cost impacts due to changing market dynamics

Assist in the preparation of RFX/Bid documents, evaluate supplier responses and provide recommendations to drive effective supplier negotiations

Liaise with Procurement Finance for timely completion of month-end closing, PPV explanations, savings tracking, coverage reporting etc.

Assist with reviewing and reporting on raw material contract coverage monthly and as needed

Handle the procurement of certain smaller spend categories by negotiating with suppliers keeping in mind cost, quality and supply continuity

Serve as a Procurement point of contact to the plants to quickly escalate and resolve any production arising from supply issues

Serve as the primary contact for maintaining direct material contracts on ERP, executing transactions and assist with approving PO s and exceptions

Assist with resolving blocked invoices arising from mismatches and variances

Assist with set ups of new vendor and new materials in collaboration with Master Data, R&D, Supplier Quality and Regulatory teams

Support cross-functional projects related to business continuity plans, cost reductions, operational efficiencies and continuous improvement

Maintain repository of supplier contract documents, NDA s, and other relevant legal or commercial documents


Requirements

Undergraduate degree in Economics, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration, Agribusiness, Food Science or related fields

1-2 years experience in the food industry in a procurement or supply chain related role preferred

1-2 years experience in commodity market analysis and commodity trading/risk management a plus

Familiarly with fundamental concepts in Procurement, Supply Chain and Logistics and Business Operations preferred

Curiosity about the food industry, Ag commodity and food ingredients markets, and supply chain management practices in such environments

Adaptable and flexible in working within a high-growth business

Strong critical thinking, interpersonal and communications skills.

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, ability to apply advanced analytics and Industry benchmarking techniques and tools.

Team player, self-motivated, with a desire to learn and take on new challenges.

Achievement & results-oriented (timeline driven, detail oriented, good planning, and negotiation skills).

The position is hybrid, you are required to work onsite a couple days a week in our office based in Duluth, GA.
