Inventory Control Specialist

The Role


The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for multi-tasking and have a strong attention to detail in our Warehouse. Experience with Microsoft Office applications is required, and ERP systems are a plus.


Main Responsibilities

  • Prepares and distributes shop order materials for internal work centers.
  • Prepares and distributes customer orders for shipping department.
  • Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.
  • Directs movement of shipments from inspection department and receiving department to storage and work areas.
  • Compiles records of unfilled orders.
  • Posts weight and shipping charges.
  • Provides inventory reports to purchasing and inventory control manager.
  • Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made.
  • Manages and maintains inventory system under the direction of the purchasing or inventory control manager.
  • Assists with stock checks and other interdepartmental requests.
  • Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
  • Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits.
  • Operates forklift truck when necessary.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly workstation.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock when in the shop area to inspect valves.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (office/cubicle environment with computers, fax machines and printers operating) to loud (manufacturing environment with large machinery operating).


Salary range: $20/hour - $25/hour, depending on experience.
