Reporting to the Senior Director, Donor Relations, the Coordinator, Donor Relations is an essential part of the Philanthropy team, working to create an outstanding experience for donors at the National Park Foundation. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing timely, accurate, and thoughtful acknowledgments and receipts, assisting in the development and delivery of donor cultivation, and stewardship communications and activities.

This is an exciting time for NPF as we are in the quiet phase of a landmark campaign designed to mobilize the efforts of the 400+ park partner community in support of the National Park System. This collective campaign will result in more money raised for the parks, more impact in the parks, and increased capacity of park partners. This unique approach to supporting national parks will create fundraising urgency and opportunities of national significance.

Essential

Functions/Duties/Tasks:Produce and ensure timely delivery and accurate tracking of acknowledgment letters, receipts, and other acknowledgment materials for internal donor audiences.Ensure accurate receipt and acknowledgment data is available for upload files on a weekly basis.Develop, create, and update standard acknowledgment templates for unrestricted and various restricted programs.Write bespoke acknowledgments, following specific guidelines, for the President and CEO to send to their network of donors.Work with NPF content creators and teams to develop a library of content for efficient acknowledgment development.Serve as the "keeper" of the overall acknowledgment process for all donors, including those processes outside of direct purview.Track and prepare pledge reminders; coordinate with relationship managers to ensure delivery as appropriate.Manage, purchase, and oversee fulfillment and distribution of America The Beautiful Federal Land Passes to qualified donors.Participate in copy editing and review of selected written materials for donors.Coordinate and support the creation and distribution of donor communications, including specialized stewardship touches for principal and major gift donors and other special audiences.Act as back-up contact for event

registrations/RSVPs.Print nametags, place cards, escort cards, and other materials for events.Assist in preparing and mailing formal invitations for engagement events.Follow established processes and support the Donor Relations teams submit and track expenses for approval and payment to vendors.Monitor and manage incoming email to two Donor Relations inboxes.Primary database support for Donor Relations, updating records, compiling biographical information, data entry, and generating reports and queries.Identify ways to strengthen processes to increase the efficiency, efficacy, and donor-centricity of our work.Work collaboratively within department and with all National Park Foundation staff members.Perform other duties as assigned, within the scope of work.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:Knowledge of working with data in relational databases, preferably Raiser s Edge or Raiser s Edge NXT. Ability to understand data structure. Comfort manipulating extracted data in Excel and managing mail-merge functions in Word.Strong communication, writing, and editing skills with attention to detail; proven capabilities to draft and edit correspondence and other written communications.Self-motivated and

proactive/inquisitive,

with demonstrated ability to be flexible, work independently, collaborate with others as needed, make sound decisions, and exercise good judgment and professionalism always. Demonstrates a team attitude.Ability to work collaboratively and independently, within a diverse and multi-disciplinary team environment, and with diverse internal and donor constituencies in a fast-paced environment.Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.Demonstrated high proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.Customer service mindset; commitment to continual improvement.

Preferred experience:A minimum of two years of experience preferred in philanthropy or donor relations and stewardship.

Experience writing for multiple voices within a non-profit organization.

Compensation and Benefits:The National Park Foundation offers a competitive salary and benefits program. Starting compensation for this opportunity is $54,000 and is commensurate with the level of experience of the candidate. This position is a hybrid and onsite role at NPF s newly designed headquarters in Washington, DC and will have access to an onsite fitness facility, exciting downtown Washington, DC community and a variety of metro stations.
