Position Overview:

The Hometown Foundation is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Event Manager to join our team. As an Event Manager, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a wide range of events, including our flagship event Dream Ride, charity galas, golf outings, community outreach programs, and corporate functions. This position gives leadership to Individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities Pillar.


Responsibilities:

  • Planning: Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to conceptualize and plan events that align with the foundation's mission and objectives.
  • Management: Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring all expenses are accounted for and within approved limits.
  • Selection and Logistics: Identify suitable event venues, negotiate contracts, and coordinate logistics such as catering, audiovisual equipment, transportation, and accommodations.
  • and Promotion: Work closely with the team to develop promotional strategies, create marketing materials, and effectively promote events through various channels, including social media, email marketing, and traditional advertising.
  • and Fundraising: Work with our Development Manager to secure sponsorships, donations, and partnerships to support event objectives and fundraising goals.
  • Management: Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to assist with event setup, coordination, and execution.
  • Management: Oversee all aspects of event execution, including registration, guest services, program schedule, entertainment, and post-event activities.
  • and Reporting: Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement. Prepare comprehensive event reports for stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed to support events.


Experience:

  • Preferred: Three (3) years experience in Event Planning & Management or related experience
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in event management software and tools, such as event registration platforms, project management systems, and CRM database.



Schedule:

  • Monday Friday
  • 8:30am 5:00pm
  • Some evenings and weekends as needed for events.



Skills:

  • Physical abilities: Ability to stand, walk and sit throughout your day; Walking on a variety of flooring such as carpet, concrete, tile etc.;
  • Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; project management
  • Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure outstanding customer service
  • Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards from all perspectives
