Overview:

Merrick is seeking an Architectural Designer to support our Energy, Manufacturing, and Bioprocessing team located at our Ellicott City (Baltimore), MD office.

Typical annual pay range for this position is $65,000.00 - $75,000.00. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Architectural Designer with three to five years of work experience. Must be proficient in Revit, AutoCAD and 3D modeling software. This individual must be able to work in multi-discipline design studio producing construction documents and possess the desire for individual growth in the architectural profession. The position requires the collaboration with other drafters/designers, the ability to follow directions and schedules, work independently, possess good written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to problem solve. Must be team oriented, self-starting and focused on producing good design in a most efficient manner and meets expectations for attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in architecture or related field is required.
  • NAAB accredited M.Arch / B.ARCH is desired, but not required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of post-undergraduate experience as an Architectural Designer required.
  • Proficient working in Revit, 3D modeling programs (Sketch Up & Revit preferred) and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience in preparing construction documents under the direction of an architect.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and be insurable under Merricks insurance carrier.
  • Client projects for this position require sole U.S. Citizenship.
  • Local candidates strongly preferred.

  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines, completing tasks as previously defined
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Ability to complete site visits and surveys.
  • Ability to write and edit specifications

Physical Requirements

  • Requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation.
  • Be able to work in an environment with open discussions and visitors without getting distracted.
  • May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
