Job Title: Accounting Manager
Location: Charlotte, NC - Lower South End (100% on-site)
Company Overview: Join a dynamic team in the food and beverage manufacturing industry, serving primarily municipalities. Our Charlotte office has 7-8 employees, with a total of 20 across the US. The company generates $12-14M in annual revenue.
Position Summary: We are seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee various accounting functions for our US-based business. This role involves managing accounts payable, multi-state sales tax, invoicing, and month-end close processes. The Accounting Manager will handle month-end reporting, forecasting, budget analysis, payroll, year-end reporting, and inventory accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), sales tax for 10-12 states, and invoicing.
- Oversee month-end close, with a focus on busy periods at half-year and year-end.
- Prepare month-end reports, forecasts, and budgets.
- Handle accruals, payroll, and year-end reporting.
- Perform inventory accounting.
- Allocate time as follows: 25% month-end activities, 10% AP, 10% AR, 10% sales/payroll tax, and 45% ad-hoc accounting/administrative duties.
- Work closely with the UK team on consolidation work.
Qualifications:
- Experience with multi-state sales/payroll tax and month-end close.
- Proficiency in Sage 100 is a plus.
- Extremely detail-oriented and proficient in intermediate Excel (Vlookups, pivot tables).
- Bachelor's degree is a plus, but relevant experience is more important.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience or seasoned experience.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact personably with customers.
- No need for international accounting experience.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: $70K-$85K based on experience
- Benefits include 2 weeks PTO, 5 sick days, 13 paid holidays (3 floating), medical, dental, vision (MDV), life insurance, and 401k with a 3% match.
- Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
