Job Description: AAV Production Research Associate I, II, III


Responsibilities:

  • Support cell culture activities and perform cell culture experiments in multiple cell lines.
  • Perform cell culture using Cellstacks for various cell types for AAV.
  • Operate related equipment such as bioreactors, pumps, mixer, and AKTA.
  • Knowledge of column AAV purification.
  • Perform ddPCR, sequencing, and reporter-based assays and screening in mammalian cell lines, tissue samples.
  • Conduct and troubleshoot experiments, independently and in collaboration with colleagues, to evaluate AAV vector candidates.
  • Design and execute cell-based assays (AAV transduction, transfection, flow cytometry, luciferase assays, and immunofluorescence).
  • Support the management of lab inventory and equipment, and assist with ordering lab supplies.
  • Participate in vector design, cloning, transfection, viral transduction, cell culturing, and cell imaging.
  • Demonstrated experience with standard molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA/protein isolation, cDNA synthesis, RT-PCR, qPCR, digital PCR, western blot, and immunofluorescence).
  • Proactively troubleshoot technical issues and recommend potential corrective actions based on personal observations and literature searches.
  • Prepare summaries of data and present internally to colleagues and management.
  • Draft SOPs, follow protocols, diligently document experimental data in lab notebooks, be organized and maintain electronic work records.
  • Author scientific reports and data summaries.
  • Conduct assays and experiments using flow cytometry, PCR, cell-based assays/bioassay development, and ELISA techniques.
  • Process tissues for RNA and DNA extraction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals, and advance novel vectors into pipeline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, or a related field.
  • Required AAV production experience.
  • Mammalian cell culture experience.
  • Experience with standard molecular and cell biology techniques (plasmid design, cloning).
  • At least 1 year of wet lab research experience.
  • Critical thinker with excellent communication skills who thrives in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced team environment.
