Job Details

Overview: Supervision of students during open lab hours in Photography and Graphic Design labs when staff and/or faculty are not present. Handing out and putting away equipment. Cleaning and closing up labs. Daily paperwork and other duties as assigned.

Campus Location: Des Plaines

Length of Employment: February 2024- May 2024, with the opportunity for renewal

Can a student do homework in this position? Sometimes

Hours Needed: Monday - Friday, 6-10 pm.

Schedule Flexibility: Schedule is fixed for the duration of the semester

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities and Learning Outcomes:

-Troubleshooting equipment issues (CT)

- Troubleshooting software issues (CT, PF)

- Supervision of students use of facilities (LD, EI)

- Daily clean-up of labs (CD)

- Equipment inventory upkeep and distribution to students (CM)

- Assisting the instructor during lab operations (TW, CM)

Candidate Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Other abilities):

Qualified candidates will have the following competencies and skills: Analog photography (darkroom) experience. Some studio lighting knowledge. Experience with Adobe computer software (Photoshop, Lightroom).

- Must be currently enrolled at Oakton Community College and in at least 6 credit hours during the Fall and Spring semesters.

- Must have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher and be in good standing at Oakton Community College.

- Show proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

- Able to stand and sit for extended periods of time.

- Demonstrated reliability and responsibility.

-Friendly. flexible, organized, courteous, and punctuality a must.

- Exceptional communication and organizational skills with strong detail orientation prefered.

- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
