Job Details

The Residential Program Coordinator performs duties to promote learning and growth that will enhance the quality of life of the people we support and of staff. Use skills such as facilitation, care coordination, evaluation and advocacy to meet any person we support and their family's comprehensive needs and desires. Lead and supervise a team of residential staff and help them to create an environment that promotes a "Person Centered Life"

Key Responsibilities of a Program Coordinator

  • Coordinate and document all initial and annual assessments, as required.
  • Identify each supported person's team members and coordinate the scheduling of the Person-Centered Planning (PCP) meeting with necessary staff and external parties.
  • Prepare, develop, and implement tailored PCPs that prioritize each person's wellness, needs, and preferences, as well as those within that person's support systems that contribute to these plans. Does this in cooperation with Direct Support staff.
  • Monitor each person we support's progress and conduct reviews as designated in the PCP.
  • Demonstrate creativity in program development that promotes active engagement and independence.
  • Supervise the direct support professionals (Residential Assistants, House Counselors etc.) that are responsible for the people supported in each site/house.
  • Ensure appropriate and timely and documented assignments for all staff.
  • Collaborate with the House Counselors to fully understand the nature, frequency, quality of learning and growth initiatives for all individuals within the caseloads of the staff he/she supervises.
  • Interview and make hiring recommendations to the program Supervisor for all vacant positions within assigned location.
  • Review data related to employee performance, such as, attendance data, individuals' progress, and teamwork, etc. and provide performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Process, review, report, and finalize semi- monthly payroll for staff within assigned program.

$50,000-$55,000

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the education, knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Service field or 5 years experience in the field preferred.
  • Valid Maryland, Washington, D.C. or Virginia driver's license and access to own vehicle for most direct support positions; provisional license is not acceptable.
  • Must have experience in working with or around adults with developmental disabilities. Working experience or knowledge of the psychological, social, recreation, and vocational needs of adults who are developmentally disabled is preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (outside of the 9 am to 5 pm).
  • Maintain weekend on-call schedule for designated houses. Provide coverage as necessary.
