Wyandotte Technologies, a tribally-owned company of the Wyandotte Nation, is seeking an experienced Inventory Management Specialist to Assist the Western Area Power Administration Sierra Nevada Regions (WAPA SNR) Property Management Officer with planning, directing, coordinating, managing, and operating items such as but not limited to the following: assets, stores, General Services Administration (GSA) Advantage, utilization, disposal, motor vehicles, supply management, and warehouse management.

Background: Western Area power Administrations statutory mission is to market and deliver cost-based hydroelectric power and related services. Westerns service area covers 1.3 million square miles. Westerns wholesale power customers provide service to millions of consumers in 15 western states. Western operates and maintains 17,033 miles of transmission lines, 300 substations and other related facilities. This position will provide Power Marketing Project Management services to the Sierra Nevada Region (SNR) of Western in Folsom, CA.

Inventory Management services shall be conducted during working hours at the Elverta Maintenance Facility located at 7940 Sorento Rd, Elverta, CA 95626

Must reside within commutable distance to Elverta, CA

Position Summary

This position involves analytical work in managing, regulating, coordinating, or otherwise exercising control over supplies, equipment, or other material. The work includes one or more phases of material management including initial planning, provisioning and requirements determination, acquisition and distribution, accountability, and ultimate issue for consumption, retention, or disposal. The work requires knowledge of acquisition processes, automated records and control systems, material substitution criteria, and storage, issue, and disposal processes.

Extensive knowledge of inventory and supply management, personal property, equipment and vehicle management, policies, practices, regulations, methods, and procedures in order to implement and coordinate the regional property management, inventory and supply management, and vehicle equipment management programs. Knowledge of the supplies, vehicles, equipment, and property used at various SNR sites. Ability to research, analyze and interpret property management laws, regulations, and policies to devise appropriate procedures and methods. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing to a broad range of professionals both within and outside of WAPA. Knowledge of GSA, DOE and WAPA policies and procedures related to the use of government purchase cards sufficient to serve as a GPC holder.

All work shall be performed in accordance with the contract Statement of Work. Services provided under this task shall be in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities

Inventory Management (Supply, Stock, Re-Stock)

Manage inventory to ensure availability of stock for mission completion.

Determine need, locate sources of supply, initiate and aid in procurement of stock inventory items. Purchase items in support of property and fleet management.

Develop analyses on warehouse usage and proposes treatment of unused items to keep warehouse stock current. Use "Just in Time" business practices when feasible.

Inventory Disposal and Reconciliation

Administer the processing of disposals and reviews and analyze data entered in WAPA's automated disposal system and financial management system.

Follow reconciliation procedures and processes adjustments of the physical inventory to the property records (accountability and responsibility) and proposes adjustments to the financial records.

Assist in administering the SNR employee awareness programs to ensure proper use, care, and movement of WAPA-owned assets. Contractor may be called upon to handle payments for staff training in other departments such as Finance.

Federal Property Regulations for Inventory Management

Review SNR requisitions for conformity to Federal Property Regulations. Make recommendations on procurement, performs research and coordinates for GPC holder on supplies and ensures that all property purchased is accounted.

Assist and advise the Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding equipment and material thefts and notifies the SNR security officer. Responsible for alerting managers to misuse of vehicles and monitors vehicles for signs of misuse, neglect, or patterns of gross negligence.

Monitor usage and care of property and contacts managers in the event of abuse or misuse.

Coordinate with Federal and contract field employees who work with, generate, or are otherwise exposed to hazardous materials and waste. Consult with SNR Environmental Management Office to assure that appropriate environmental compliance standards are maintained for transportation, inventory, clean-up, storage, disposal and tracking of hazardous materials and waste to, from, or at Elverta Maintenance Facility.

Inventory GSA Vehicle Management

Coordinate the SNR vehicle management program with the local GSA Region Fleet Management Center. Work with GSA to resolve vehicle management issues. Analyze, evaluate, and monitor utilization of GSA vehicles making recommendations on additions and turn-ins based on local use standards.

Possess knowledge and understanding of audit practices, economic principles, and financial regulations.

Strong computer skills and the ability to multitask and be flexible.

Knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.

Ability to be dependable, work independently as well as being a team player with a positive attitude.

Ability to work with diverse personality types.

Must have experience working with inventory management software, such as Maximo.

Must have bookkeeping, accounting, and/or inventory management experience.

Proactive, not reactive. In other words, be able to research the current situation with inventory, make forecasts for the future, and have a backup plan for emergency cases.

Education and Experience

Two plus years of equivalent experience in relevant academic field demonstrating the ability to perform position requirements.

Excellent organizational skill with attention to detail.

Ability to determine the goals and objectives of the WAPA SNR customer and apply them to task performance in an excellent manner.

Ability to use standard office computer application.

. Experience in using: (a) MAXIMO maintenance maintenance management software including the inventory module, (b) Oracle Financials Accountable Asset module and receiving functions of the purchasing module and (c) Discoverer or other query tool for the purpose of gathering, analyzing, and reporting data

Position will be required to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment, training will be provided
