Database AdministratorLocation: Springfield, VA, USJob ID: 16225Job DescriptionJobDescription:Title: Database Administrator (PostGreSQL)Location: Onsite in Springfield, VACitizenship/Clearance Requirement: US Citizen with an active TS/SCI Clearance (CI Poly Preferred). This position supports a government contract.Job Summary:Responsibilities include:-Designing, planning, implementing, testing and administering multiple databases, including security, access, and documentation.-Manage and administer complex information technology systems to ensure system design and operation meets business needs.-Provides guidance and experience on a project or program, serves as a team leader, and performs analysis of issues and risks.-Perform daily administrative tasks, including backup/recovery, performance optimization, space management, DB health, monitoring event logs, and troubleshooting to maintain multiple databases in support of client needs.-Proactively monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues-Work cross-functionally with our engineers, developers, and user base to optimize queries, fix performance bottlenecks, improve existing schemas and design new ones-Create and maintain change control and testing processes-Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards; planning for future growth of our data assets-Writing automation to provision and manage PostgreSQL on Kubernetes-Create and maintain SQL scripts for data extraction, migration, and maintenance-Review development and deployment processes related to databases and identify areas of improvement.-Create and maintain documentation, troubleshooting playbooks, testing failover and recovery plansWHAT YOU LL NEED TO SUCCEED:Requirements:-5+ years and Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work/military experience.-PostgreSQL DBA experience (or other similar database administration experience)-Exceptional SQL development and performance tuning skills-Expertise with Postgres system metrics and optimization strategies-Familiarity with system level metrics and practical use of common Linux utilities-Master of one of the following scripting languages: Python, Perl, Bash-Exceptional communication skills to interact with not only the customer, but the development and operations teams.-Active TS/SCI clearance required to start and eligibility to obtain CI Poly requiredDesired:-Certified Oracle DB, MySQL and/or SQL.-Proficient in Linux, to include installation and daily use as a development environment-Experience with Linux and GitEducational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science,mathematics, statistics, computer science or related fieldCertification Requirements: N/AArena Technical Resources, LLC, (ATR) is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) who will provide equal employment opportunity to employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, color, sex, pregnancy, national origin, age, veteran status, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, family structure, genetic information, or mental or physical disabilityAn Equal OpportunityEmployer M/F/D/VJobCategoryDatabase Admin/DeveloperJobID16225JobTitleDatabase AdministratorJobLocationSpringfield, VAHourlyPay Rate-AnnualPay Rate- 115000#...@atr.com
