SUMMARY:

The Financial Advisor will offer financial solutions to members through a wide variety of products and services. This task will be accomplished through the utilization of a Total-Needs Based selling approach. The Advisor will meet with members face to face as well as via telephone in order to identify financial goals and objectives and determine appropriate insurance and securities products to meet the member s goals and objectives. Establishing a relationship with continuous periodic reviews is an essential part of the Total-Needs Sales process.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Presents a professional image in dress, conduct and carry and cultivates a strong working relationship with members and credit union staff.
  • Generates a minimum of 15-20 appointments/interviews per week with members.
  • Follows the sales process and procedures as established through the broker-dealer and the credit union.
  • Follows the established insurance and securities compliance guidelines, and strictly adheres to all company policies.
  • Follows established policies and procedures of ethical market conduct; conducts business according to the highest standards of honesty, fairness, and integrity and renders service to members which in the same circumstance we would demand for ourselves.
  • Follows the established guidelines for maintaining client files in accordance with company practices and FINRA requirements.
  • Meets or exceeds the minimum validation standards, as outlined in the Employment Agreement, along with a breadth of product mix to meet all financial needs of members. This product mix should be well diversified to show that the Financial Advisor is uncovering the needs of our members. Meets cross selling goals.
  • Attends all required training and informational meetings scheduled.
  • Completes and submits weekly activity reports promptly.
  • Identifies potential clients using credit union marketing campaigns, personal contacts and seminars.
  • Interviews clients to determine financial position, resources, assets available to invest, and financial goals.
  • Provides clients with information and advice on purchase or sale of securities, financial services, investment plans and insurance products.
  • Opens and services new accounts.
  • Completes sales and documents for processing.
  • Reads status reports and performs calculations to monitor client accounts and verify transactions.
  • Develops and implements financial plans.
  • Builds long-term financial advisory relationships with clients.
  • Maneuvers and manages databases and resources on computer.
  • Conducts offline or online research to resolve client problems.
  • Assures area is in compliance with pertinent laws and regulations.
  • Performs other essential job-related duties as assigned by Management, subject to reasonable accommodations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability To:

  • Solve practical problems by providing and communicating solutions to co-workers and members.

  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Accurately implement standards and procedures, make independent decisions using sound judgment, organize and prioritize workload, and maintain a professional relationship with members, employees and vendors.

Knowledge Of:

  • Credit Union policies and procedures and products and services offered by the Credit Union.
  • Investment and insurance products.
  • Applicable state and federal laws and regulations.


REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor s degree in a related field plus 3 years of proven sales success in the financial services industry.

License or Certification:

  • NASD Series 7, 63, 65/66
