Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building engineering systems and laboratory equipment on a scheduled basis and in accordance with regulatory and safety requirements.
- Inspects HVAC units for proper operation and performs adjustments as required.
- Resolves assigned work orders timely.
- Performs basic rough and finished carpentry work in construction and repair of structures.
- Performs basic electrical installation and repair work and checks the functionality of safety systems.
- Identifies and performs basic repairs of plumbing leaks or breaks. Cleans and inspects boilers and treats water with proper chemicals.
- Assists with unscheduled repairs/troubleshooting of building and laboratory equipment.
- Maintains grounds in clean and orderly manner including, but not limited to mowing trimming, weeding, planting etc.
- Assist in all phases of project work involving moving, remodeling and equipment installation.
- Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- May need to respond to emergency calls after scheduled working hours, weekends, and holidays.
- May pick up parts and supplies at local vendors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or GED required.
