**Hybrid - 1 day a week onsite in Ashburn, VA.**


Our government client is looking for a Java Developer to join their team.


Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. We offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.


Pay Rate: $75.00 - $85.00/hr on W2


Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be taken into account when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting is a reflection of a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided pay range.


W2 employees of Eliassen Group who are regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for the following benefits: medical (choice of 3 plans), dental, vision, pre-tax accounts, other voluntary benefits including life and disability insurance, 401(k) with match, and sick time if required by law in the worked-in state/locality.


Responsibilities of the Java Developer:

  • Design and implement microservices using the Spring framework
  • Use modern software engineering tools for design, development, and testing the software
  • Present the solution at formal and informal design reviews
  • Document the design according to the Government s system lifecycle methodology
  • Provision, operate, and maintain systems running on AWS (or equivalent cloud providers)
  • Develop microservices using Spring (Primarily Spring Boot)


Requirements of the Java Developer:

  • A Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 10 years of technical experience
  • Experience wiring up code to perform highly efficient CRUD operations on DBMS such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB with JDBC, JPA, Hibernate etc
  • Experience and familiarity with Unix, Linux systems and commands along with some shell scripting
  • Experience with object-oriented analysis and design techniques
  • Experience with orchestration to develop a cloud solution
  • Understanding of developing scalable web applications - infrastructure (firewalls, load balancers, storage, monitoring, security etc.)
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior level developers
  • High level of self-motivation, desire to deliver stellar solutions and willingness to work in a distributed team environment
