Warehouse Operations Manager


Job Details

We are looking to add a dedicated and experienced Operations Logistics Manager to their ground team to lead and oversee all facets of their warehouse operations at the company s headquarters in Essex County.


The ideal candidate will offer 5+ years of previous management experience in a warehouse setting, and possess strong leadership skills, with a high degree of process and detail orientation.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead daily meetings with staff
  • Manage all aspects of warehouse staffing, including recruiting, scheduling, and timekeeping
  • Responsible for ensuring safety training procedures and protocols, provide regular guidance and oversight to staff
  • Ensure warehouse is OSHA compliant; maintain appropriate documentation of workplace incidents and OSHA-related documentation
  • Responsible for quality control processes and accuracy of shipments
  • Perform inventory checks using inventory management software
  • Regularly communicate with dispatchers
  • Work in internal departments to ensure customer orders are accurately relayed to staff and fulfilled in a timely manner
  • Consistently lead by example by exuding responsible behavior; build and maintain a team of high performing warehouse associates
  • Emphasize and lead trainings to warehouse staff


Qualifications

  • 5+ years previous management or assistant management experience in a warehouse setting
  • Bachelor s Degree in business administration, supply chain, logistics, or similar field strongly preferred
  • Extensive experience with LTL and FTL shipments
  • Experience with operational, process, and performance improvement projects (lean or six sigma experience highly valued)
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • General office knowledge, including telephone and computer skills, to perform in a customer service environment
  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated leadership in building a culture of Continuous Improvement for process and operations
  • Proven ability as a passionate people-centric leader who can effectively drive results in a fast-paced and rapidly growing company
  • Extremely organized, meticulous and detailed oriented
  • Strong analytical ability necessary to gather and interpret data to further develop, recommend and implement solutions
  • Experience using warehouse management software and an inventory barcoding system
  • Must demonstrate responsible work habits and satisfy pre-employment requirements, including a background check and drug test
  • OSHA Forklift Certification License a plus


Physical Demands

Position requires work in a general warehouse setting, including standing, lifting with arms and hands, pushing or pulling, walking, exchanging ideas or providing instructions, visual ability to prepare and analyze data and figures, view a computer terminal, and operate both general office equipment and warehouse equipment

  • Exert or lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis; request assistance for anything exceeding this weight
  • Warehouse environment with exposure to various temperatures, noises, and warehouse hazards
