Outside Sales Representative


Job Details

My client is looking for a number of Sales Reps. The successful candidate will work closely with new and existing distribution customers utilizing in depth knowledge of their products and operations to provide solutions and generate sales. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in B2B sales/distribution, customer service, and marketing, ideally with experience in the wallcoverings, decorative finishes or building materials industry. The candidate must also have excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.


Salary: $50K base - OTE $100K Uncapped

Location: Maryland

Extensive travel


Responsibilities:


  • Plan and execute personal sales strategy to maximize efforts and results


  • Research and identify sales opportunities through work with internal associates, industry publications, online sources, and client and vendor networking


  • Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with prospective and existing customers through phone, email, and in-person meetings


  • Develop and deliver effective sales presentations to negotiate and close profitable business across all products


  • Ensure all clients have the most up-to-date product samples and brochures; work with vendors to ensure proper sales positioning


  • Consult with clients to determine requirements and expectations and recommend specific solutions; calculate estimates to provide competitive pricing


  • Interface with internal team and supply partners as necessary to ensure scheduled deadlines and requests are met


  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and concerns


  • Obtain and maintain complete and accurate information on prospective and existing clients in customer relationship management database



Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years sales and distribution experience, wallcoverings, decorative finishes or building materials industry experience strongly preferred


  • Hold an associate s degree or have comparable work experience


  • Have a proven track record of B2B sales/account management and the ability to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and close high-level sales


  • Possess strong persuasion and negotiation skills with the ability to use a consultative approach to close sales


  • Demonstrate a proficiency in selling product lines and ability to identify and develop new client and market opportunities


  • Have a strong customer focus and be passionate about building long-term business relationships


  • Have outstanding multi-tasking, problem solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to complete difficult assignments independently in a fast paced, deadline driven environment


  • Possess strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, organizational, and follow-through skills


  • Demonstrate general mathematical computational ability and a strong attention to detail


Have computer proficiency, preferably in Microsoft Office programs and CRM

Have a strong understanding of social media on platforms such as Instagram and LinkedIn

Travel is required for sales meetings, attending industry events and training as needed
