ms consultants, inc. is actively seeking a Project Manager / Senior Engineer for immediate employment in any of our Ohio offices (Akron, Cleveland, Columbus and Youngstown). The successful candidate will support the Water practice area in managing projects and serving on project teams planning and designing water and wastewater focused infrastructure for public works and privately owned projects. We are looking for someone who has water/wastewater process and treatment design experience.

What You'll Do:

This role will serve as an integral member of the Water Business Unit. The Water Business Unit provides complete drinking water, wastewater, and water resources engineering services to municipal, industrial, and private clients. These services include planning, management, design, analysis, and permitting for maintaining these essential systems. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to manage varying size projects and will be responsible for the following:

  • Perform Project Management duties on specific projects as necessary.
  • Planning and execution of projects assigned to the water group.
  • Assist with preparation of request for proposals as needed.
  • Providing expertise to other company practice areas.
  • Managing design tasks, client interactions and perform engineering assignments requiring application of engineering principles, techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Performing work which may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and difficult coordination requirements.
  • Preparation of contract plans, specifications and supporting work including calculations, hydraulic analyses, etc.
  • Meeting regularly with clients to monitor and maintain satisfaction on all projects.
  • Ensuring that assigned projects are executed and completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinating QA/QC reviews of project deliverables with technical staff.
  • Supervises and supports the work of others and mentors junior level engineer & design/drafting technical staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring:

We are looking for someone who is a creative problem solver, willing and able to communicate design ideas and learn office production workflow in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excel and enjoys working individually and in a team environment;
  • Have exceptional critical thinking, strong problem solving and decision making abilities,
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills
Minimum Requirements:
  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university or equivalent experience
  • Professional Engineer license
  • Relevant years of experience in engineering and experience in project management
  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project).
