Job Details

Digital Room is seeking an experienced Shipping Manager for our Van Nuys, CA facility. The Shipping Manager is a member of our Production Management team and reports to our Plant Manager. The Shipping Manager will provide direction, supervision, and support to the shipping team of 50+ employees.

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business (or other related field) or equivalent experience
  • Experience managing personnel of 25+ employees for 3+ years.
  • Manufacturing production experience.
  • Printing Industry experience a plus.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience a plus.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive with a high level of organization.
  • Project management skills.
  • Excellent understanding of lean manufacturing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other project management software
  • Knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) systems
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish a must


Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing manufacturing and production processes.
  • Planning, directing and running optimum day-to-day department operations to ensure on-time commitments to our customers.
  • Works closely with the leads and assistant managers in gathering information and tracking progress against approved milestones.
  • Works with the leads/assistant managers and production team to develop and track against a production plan reflective of the defined project goals.
  • Increasing production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
  • Advancement of the operators to higher skill levels.
  • Provides motivation, support, and guidance to all employees.
  • Anticipates bottlenecks, clarifies project priorities, identifies risks, and escalates issues that cannot be internally resolved.
  • Work with other departments to ensure on-time production throughout the facility and inform CS Ops of any issues affecting committed deliveries.
  • Clearly defines all workflows, communicates documented processes, and ensures all practices are being refined and tuned with learnings.
  • Provides regular status reports and capacity plan updates with the team.
  • Identifies processes that can improve project efficiency and act as a change agent for them.
  • Ensures internal department workflow and tracking documents up to date.
  • Implementing/holding employees accountable for all the company s procedures and policies.
  • Implementing safety, health, environment, and quality requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $65,000 to $80,000 per year. Actual compensation within the range will depend on a variety of factors including the individual s skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.
