Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Purpose:

The Maintenance Supervisor, under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager, oversees the maintenance team, focusing on the upkeep and repair of facilities, grounds, and equipment. This role includes managing daily operations and ensuring that all systems, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems, are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas including docks, aisles, break rooms, restrooms, and offices.
  • Manage the allocation of materials, equipment, and personnel, optimizing resource use and efficiency across projects.
  • Regularly inspect facilities to identify issues and initiate appropriate solutions.
  • Plan and prioritize routine maintenance schedules and tasks.
  • Oversee complex repair activities and ensure the maintenance of equipment and materials.
  • Lead and direct a team of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance workers across various functions like painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed to a high standard.
  • Undertake additional duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Educational background: Minimum of eighteen months of post-high school education in general maintenance and repair or a related field.
  • Experience: At least two years in a general maintenance role with skills in identifying system malfunctions and equipment failures.

Education and Experience:

  • Technical training: Two years of technical schooling.
  • Work experience: Three years in a role closely related to maintenance.
  • Language skills: Strong command of English, both written and verbal.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office suite.

Reasoning Abilities:

  • Effective communication across all levels of management.
  • Capability to make independent decisions and lead a diverse team.
  • Problem-solving skills with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to analyze and logically support decisions and actions.

Physical Requirements:

  • The role requires physical activities such as lifting up to 30lbs, standing for extended periods, and significant walking including stairs.

Work Environment:

  • The position is based in a Distribution Center with variable temperature conditions.
