The Indiana University Alumni Association's mission is to activate and support the global alumni network of more than 750,000 IU graduates - encouraging alumni to grow a lifelong connection with Indiana University, and inspiring their ongoing generosity toward each other and the university.
The IUAA activates IU's powerful global network through live and virtual events, volunteer opportunities, scholarship programs, compelling IU content, and seriously fun traditions. Additionally, the association develops and supports volunteer leadership, serves as a voice for alumni as the university evolves, and provides lifelong learning opportunities.
*Job Summary*
The IU Indianapolis programs and events-focused student fellow will build strategy for IUAA student engagement.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
* Provides insight and recommendations on how students would like to connect with IUAA and recent graduates.
* Serves as the IUAA liaison to the IU Indianapolis Student Foundation.
* Identifies and collaborates with student groups across campus to enhance student engagement with IUAA.
* Explores opportunities for student engagement at current IU Indianapolis signature events, including the Regatta Hospitality Event, Alumni Leaders Dinner, and Weekend U.
* Explores student engagement opportunities at Affinity events in Indianapolis (LGBTQ+ Alumni Association Celebration Weekend and Neal-Marshall Alumni Club Jazz Brunch).
* Performs event-related responsibilities for the 2025 Weekend U event, including creating and maintaining vendor relationships, collaborating with colleagues, providing logistical insight during planning, and day-of coordination.
* Serves on the Student Alumni Association and IU Homecoming Steering Committee.
*Qualifications*
EDUCATION
*Required*
* Currently as a student at Indiana University.
WORK EXPERIENCE
*Preferred*
* Experience with or an interest in event coordination from planning, to execution, to post-event reporting.
* Experience creating communications for a defined audience.
* Experience designing digital marketing materials for social media or other web-based platforms.
* Experience with design software, such as InDesign, Photoshop, or Canva, is a plus.

* Proficient communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work as a member of a team with a collaborative attitude.
* Ability to maintain open communication and be highly resourceful and self-motivated.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Demonstrates an eagerness and commitment to learn about the identities and cultures of various alumni and student populations, including but not limited to, alumni of color, LGBTQ+ alumni, and international alumni, and be dedicated to ensuring they are appropriately represented in communications.

This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.
*Advertised Salary*
$15.00 per hour.
*Work Hours*
10 - 15 hours per week.
